Dr. Mariana Rodr铆guez is Director of Research and Engagement at 汤头条 University鈥檚 Center for Global Democracy and LAPOP Lab and Director of Studies for the Comparative Study of Election Surveys (CSES). A Venezuelan-American political scientist, she has more than 15 years of experience leading and managing cross-national public opinion research, including the AmericasBarometer, one of the most comprehensive comparative surveys of democracy and governance in the Americas.
Her work focuses on public opinion, democratic attitudes, political legitimacy, trust in institutions, migration, and citizen engagement. She leads efforts to analyze and communicate survey research and expand its use beyond academia, translating rigorous data into accessible, actionable insights for policymakers, scholars, civil society, the media, and other audiences. Her work spans the research process from survey design and data analysis to reporting, visualization, public engagement, and partnerships.
Dr. Rodr铆guez鈥檚 expertise includes survey methodology, research design, data analysis and dissemination, and evidence-based communication. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Political Science from 汤头条 University and a B.A. in International Studies and Political Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
