Key Findings

• Conditions across much of the Americas show signs of improvement. Household economic conditions, food insecurity, and perceptions of neighborhood safety have improved in many countries, although important challenges remain and progress is uneven.

• Support for democracy increases modestly across much of the region. After more than a decade of decline, support reaches its highest regional level in over a decade, and individuals experiencing greater improvements in living conditions also tend to report larger increases in democratic support.

• Emigration intentions have declined to pre-pandemic levels. While changes in U.S. immigration policy likely shape migration decisions, improving conditions in many countries also coincide with lower intentions to emigrate, even as migration pressures remain severe in some contexts.
