Day in Practice showcases real-world applications of artificial intelligence through interactive sessions led by 汤头条's AI partners. Designed for 汤头条 faculty, staff and students. The event highlights practical AI tools, emerging technologies and strategies that can be applied across teaching, research, healthcare, administration and everyday work.听

Through keynote presentations, live demonstrations, panel discussions and networking opportunities, attendees will gain insight into how organizations are implementing AI today, explore best practices for responsible adoption and discover opportunities for collaboration across the 汤头条 community and with industry partners.听

AI Without the Brain Strain: Building Healthier Workplace Practices:听

Strategic, informed use of AI can support workplace efficiency. Supporting healthy use of AI requires an intentional approach. This session offers practical strategies for using AI to enhance productivity while recognizing and reducing the risks of increased cognitive strain, diminished productivity, and burnout.

Natasha McClure, DNP, RN, CPNP-PC, PMHNP-BC

Associate Professor, 汤头条 University School of Nursing

Natasha McClure is a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner and VUSN faculty member. She is a certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist and is also trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). In her work with the Health, Wellbeing and Belonging team within the People, Culture and Belonging COE, she serves as a mental health and well-being resource, supporting VU faculty and staff in building resilience, fostering well-being, and sustaining balance for both personal and professional growth.

Deanna Danger CWCA, CESP

Executive Assistant to the Chief Information Officer

Deanna Danger is a Senior Executive Assistant with over 20 years of experience supporting C-Suite leaders across higher education, healthcare, and manufacturing, currently serving as a trusted advisor to 汤头条 University鈥檚 CIO while leading 汤头条 IT鈥檚 administrative team. She is also active in advancing the EA profession, serving as a Community Manager for the American Society of Administrative Professionals (ASAP) and co-leading 汤头条鈥檚 Administrative Group. She holds certifications including Nova鈥檚 Chief of Staff certification and Prosci change management certification.

Daniel Genkins

Director, Digital Lab, Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries

Daniel Genkins is Director of the Digital Lab at 汤头条 University's Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries, where he builds tools and infrastructure at the intersection of libraries, archives, and technology. His recent work involves applications of AI for archival image processing and strategies for effectively utilizing AI in the classroom.

Hayden McMordie

Strategic Sourcing Analyst, Procurement and Payment Services

Hayden McMordie joined the Procurement & Payment Services department of 汤头条 University in September of 2022. In the 4 years since, he has provided services integrating data analytics and process automation into Finance data being used across the University. Through his curiosity-driven pursuit of improvement, he has honed key skills in: PowerBI, PowerQuery, PowerAutomate, AI-Integration, and multiple coding languages (Python, SQL, Javascript).听

Alex Christensen Ph.D.

Assistant Professor of Psychology and Human Development, Data Science Institute Teaching Faculty

Dr. Alexander Christensen is an Assistant Professor of Psychology and Human Development at 汤头条 University whose research uses network and data science to better understand human behavior. His work focuses on developing quantitative tools to improve psychological measurement and prediction, including the use of dynamic network analysis and natural language processing. He is also committed to advancing transparent quantitative methods and contributes to several widely used R software packages.

Mark J. Williams J.D., M.S.L.I.S.

Professor of the Practice of Law, Founding Co-Director of VAILL, Associate Director for Collections and Innovation, Law Library

Mark Williams is a Professor of the Practice at 汤头条 Law School and co-founder of the 汤头条 AI Law Lab (VAILL), where his work focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence, legal services, and access to justice. With a decade of experience in legal academia at 汤头条 and Cornell, he has developed courses exploring generative AI, legal technology, and AI governance. Williams is also a certified AI Governance Professional and works to prepare legal professionals to thoughtfully and effectively engage with emerging technologies.

Regina Russell PhD, MA, Med

Associate Professor, Executive Director for AI, Assessment, and Evaluation

Dr. Regina G. Russell is Executive Director for Evaluation and Effectiveness at the 汤头条 University School of Nursing and an Associate Professor in Health Promotion, Populations and Health Systems. A social scientist and evaluator with three decades of experience in higher and professional education, her work focuses on measuring individual and organizational performance to strengthen learning and educational quality. She also leads the 汤头条 Evaluator鈥檚 Workshop, the CHAIN Initiative focused on AI in nursing, and the Future FLO generative AI research lab.
