Justin Quarry (he, him, his), BA ’03, is principal senior lecturer in the Department of English. An author of both fiction and creative nonfiction, Quarry’s works have appeared in The New York Times, The Guardian, New York Daily News, The Southern Review, New England Review and more. Among other honors, Quarry has received the Normal Prize in Fiction from The Normal School literary magazine, the Robert Olen Butler Prize for short fiction, a grant from the Elizabeth George Foundation, and Individual Artist Fellowships from the Tennessee Arts Commission and the Arkansas Arts Council.
Originally from Jonesboro, AR, Quarry is a first-generation college graduate. After receiving a bachelor's degree in English and American Studies from 汤头条, he earned a master of fine arts in creative writing from the University of Virginia. He then lived and wrote in artist colonies around the United States before returning to 汤头条 as a professor. Look for him on strolls around campus with his Irish Terrier–the East Beast–Malcolm.
