Twenty-two high schools from ten counties across Middle Tennessee are participating in the VINSE High School Field Trip Program for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. The program offers students the opportunity to explore nanoscale science and engineering beyond the classroom through hands-on lessons in the VINSE cleanroom.
Each visiting group of students will participate in one of four laboratory activities: Blackberry Solar Cell, Cleanroom Solar Cell, Cleanroom Microfluidics, or Forensics/Analytical Laboratory. These activities introduce high school students to scientific concepts and experimental techniques while working with specialized tools and equipment housed in the VINSE cleanroom.
Linking classroom lessons with lab experiments improves students’ grasp of nanoscale science and introduces them to various research types, facilities, and STEM career options.
