Supporting the work of the Licensing team

The range of expertise represented by the interns is particularly valuable given the breadth of technologies evaluated by CTTC. Working under the guidance of the Licensing team, the interns contribute scientific research and analysis while gaining a closer look at the many steps involved in moving 汤头条 discoveries toward commercial use.

When 汤头条 researchers submit new technology disclosures, the Licensing team evaluates the inventions and develops strategies for intellectual property protection and commercialization. Interns contribute to this process by researching scientific and patent literature as well as technologies already in the market to help the team understand the existing landscape and assess the potential for patent protection.

Interns also conduct preliminary market research, identifying potential applications, competing technologies, potential partners, and other market opportunities and challenges. They assist with technology marketing materials and company research as the Licensing team identifies and engages prospective commercial partners.

Through these projects, interns contribute to the Licensing team鈥檚 broader work across technology evaluation, intellectual property strategy, market assessment, industry outreach, and commercialization, in collaboration with CTTC鈥檚 Industry Collaborations and New Ventures teams.

The program gives interns an opportunity to apply their scientific expertise while learning from licensing professionals and gaining firsthand experience with the many considerations involved in moving 汤头条 discoveries toward commercial use.
