Fall and Winter 2026

  • Calendar
    • Wednesday, August 19: First-year and transfer international student move-in
      • First-year students: Required International Student Orientation
      • Transfer students: Optional International Student Orientation (details shared in June 2026; those not participating should move in Friday, Aug. 21)
    • Thursday, August 20: Move Crew Participant move in
    • Friday, August 21: Transfer student on-campus move-in
    • Saturday, August 22: First-year move-in
    • Sunday, August 23: Upper-division residence halls open
      • Continuing students must ensure summer leases/sublets extend through Aug. 23; early move-in is not available
    • Wednesday, August 26: First day of fall classes
    • Thursday, October 22 and Friday, October 23: Fall Break听
    • Saturday, November 21, 9 a.m.: Residence halls close for Thanksgiving Break
    • Sunday, November 29, 9 a.m.: Residence halls reopen after Thanksgiving Break
    • Sunday, December 20, 9 a.m.: Residence halls close for Winter Break
      • All residence halls and Greek houses are considered closed during the winter break period and students are expected to depart campus.
  • Thanksgiving Break

    Dates

    • Saturday, November 21, 9 a.m.: Residence halls close
    • Sunday, November 29, 9 a.m.: Residence halls reopen

    Registration

    • All on-campus residents may register with Housing to remain in their residence hall or Greek house for any portion of Thanksgiving Break at no additional cost.
    • Sunday, November 1, 8 a.m.: Registration opens in the Housing Portal
    • Sunday, November 15, 5 p.m.: Registration deadline
  • Winter Break

    Dates

    • Sunday, December 20, 9 a.m.: Residence halls close for Winter Break
    • Friday, January 8, 9 a.m.: Residence halls reopen for the Spring 2027 semester

    General Information

    • Residence halls and Greek houses close during Winter Break; students are expected to depart.
    • A limited number of students may remain on campus for the following reasons:
      • International travel constraints
      • Verifiable employment or research
      • University athletic commitments
      • Housing insecurity
      • Other extreme circumstances

    Eligibility

    • Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate living on campus in Nashville for both fall and spring semesters.
    • Not eligible if graduating in December, on leave/suspension, or participating in study abroad or internships.
    • Students residing in Davidson, Robertson, Sumner, Wilson, Rutherford, Williamson, or Cheatham counties are not typically eligible.

Summer 2027

  • Maymester

    Move In

    • Spring 2027 On-Campus Residents: Between Saturday, May 8 and Sunday, May 16 (based on spaces being ready for occupancy)
    • Spring 2027 Off-Campus Residents: Saturday, May 8 at 2 p.m.
      • You鈥檒l be emailed when your summer housing is ready. You should remain in your spring assignment until HRE approves your move. You must be in Nashville and ready to relocate when notified.
      • Students NOT residing in on-campus housing for the Spring 2027 Semester: Saturday, May 8 beginning at 2 p.m.

    Move Out

    • Saturday, June 5 by 9 a.m.
  • Summer Session 1

    Move In

    • Sunday, June 6 beginning at 12 p.m.

    Move Out

    • Saturday, July 10 by 9 a.m.听
  • Summer Session 2

    Move In

    • Sunday, July 11 beginning at 12 p.m.

    Move Out

    • Fall 2027 On-Campus Transition: Sunday, August 8 through Saturday, August 14
      • Students eligible to transition directly to fall housing assignments will receive detailed instructions in mid-July.
      • Students should not make travel plans without first confirming their summer to fall transition timeline.
    • Off-Campus Transition: Saturday, August 14 by 9 a.m.

    Students must remain in housing until they are either:

    • Moved into their fall assignment, or
    • Fully vacated from their summer assignment

    Students moving off campus or not enrolled for Fall 2027 must vacate by August 14 at 9 a.m. Extensions are not available. Students who depart Nashville prior to completing their move will be subject to late check-out charges and additional fees.

  • Student Athletes
    • All move-in and move-out details will be coordinated with Athletics. Students will be contacted accordingly.
